Dubai COVID-19 Vaccination Program To End In December 2021

In a series of videos released by the Dubai Media Office, Dr. Farida Al Khaja, CEO of Clinical Support Services and Nursing Sector, chairperson of the COVID-19 Vaccination Steering Committee at the DHA, explained the current vaccination campaign.

The Dubai Health Authority explains further the COVID-19 vaccination roadmap for Dubai residents.

Al Khaja said that the vaccination campaign will only last for one year and Dubai is set to finish it by December 2021. The government’s target is to vaccinate 70 percent of the Dubai population.

The health official added that the vaccine is free of charge but it’s not mandatory. People can book their vaccination appointment through the DHA app or call 800 342 if they have questions regarding the vaccination program.

Dubai is currently in the first phase of the vaccination until March 2021 covering all the priority categories. The second phase should start by April 2021.

People who were infected by the virus can be vaccinated three months after their infection. Pregnant, breastfeeding women and those who are planning to get pregnant, people with immunodeficiency disease and severe allergy are being discouraged to take their vaccine shots.

People are still required to wear masks, travels will be easy for people who have been vaccinated but they should finish the dosage requirement of the vaccine.

Health experts do not recommend taking more than one brand of COVID-19 vaccine.
