Top 20 Tips To Grow Your Instagram

HERE’S WHY YOU NEED INSTAGRAM IF YOU OWN A BUSINESS:
Build your brand
More people are using Instagram more and more
80% of Users Follow a Business on Instagram
Any size of business can thrive
Stories make your business more relatable
It offers many ways to be more creative

1. FIRST AND FOREMOST: DON’T CHEAT THE SYSTEM!

This is the most important tip before we head into the rest because you do not want to try to cheat the system. I know this makes me sound like a bit of a downer but I promise you that if you buy followers and if you play the whole follow, unfollow game it will come back to bite you. Instagram is really cracking down on shady activity right now, so if you get caught your account could get disabled. It’s just really not worth it.

2. OPTIMIZE YOUR BIO

Your bio is the first thing that people see when they come to your profile (aside from your images of course), so you really need to make sure it’s clear and represents who you are and what you post about on Instagram. Make it fun, make it memorable, BUT make it snappy! Really make sure that it represents who you are and what you post about.

3. BE ACTIVE AND REAL

Active goes much further than posting every single day and replying to your own comments on your own account. Leaving meaningful and thoughtful comments on other accounts is being truly active and REAL. This will really help kick-start your progress on Instagram and get your profile in front of others.

4. INTERACT WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE

Find people that are most likely to be interested in the topics you’re interested in and that you’re posting about and interact with those people. These are the kind of people that will be interested in your content and will follow you.

5. YOUR PROFILE PICTURE SHOULD REPRESENT YOU IN SECONDS

If your picture doesn’t look great then pick an image that represents who you are, what your Instagram is about, and that looks very enticing so that people will want to click on your profile.

6. USE ALL THE HASHTAGS

When it comes to Instagram, why shoot yourself in the foot and not give yourself every opportunity you have to succeed. Use all thirty hashtags!

7. IMPROVE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY

If you want to stand out on Instagram, a creative and consistent theme is the way to go! So if your photos aren’t beautiful or engaging enough then you’re probably never going to succeed. All you need is a smartphone and a bit of understanding of how light works, how image composition works and a little bit of knowledge about editing and that’s really it.

8. DEVELOP A CONSISTENT EDITING STYLE

This goes back to what we just discussed, but you need to learn more about image editing if you want to succeed on Instagram. It’s very simple. Lightroom is a software that edits amazingly or you can just do it on your smartphone with apps like VSCO or A Color Story. These apps can save different presets with filters that can help make your feed look more cohesive.

9. USE THE RIGHT HASHTAGS

Top hashtags are usually oversaturated so try for smaller niched tags that will really give your account a boost. With a little bit of research from your competition, you’ll be able to find relevant hashtags to use. Also, don’t be afraid to experiment or create your own. The right hashtags can increase your visibility.

10. TAG YOUR LOCATION

Studies show that images with the location included can perform up to 79 percent better with a higher engagement rate, so include a location.

11. WRITE A GREAT CAPTION

If you write a caption (description) that really connects with your followers or you ask a question that generates genuine comments, that alone can explode your engagement and your growth.

12. INCLUDE A CALL TO ACTION

Call to actions can be anything from a question related to the picture you uploaded in your description, to a link in your bio to your favorite travel locations or latest blog post. Even if you’re a small Instagrammer and you’re kind of worried about not getting a response, just do it. Call to actions create engagement and makes you look like an authority in your field.

13. TAG OTHER PEOPLE

Now, you don’t want to overdo this because it will become very annoying if your photo isn’t relevant to the other accounts that you are tagging BUT if it is and the other account features images that use their tag, this could even get you a re-post and more followers.

14. STAY ON TOPIC

I know this can be difficult for a lot of people because as humans we are very multifaceted and we have many different varied interests but on Instagram, you really want to narrow your interests down to two to three subjects. This will cause less confusion for your followers as you grow your account.

15. POST ON TRENDING TOPICS

Post within trending topics such as International Women’s Day, Human Rights Day or National Puppy Day (March, 23rd) and many others. This can really help other people discover your account and this also keeps your account current and up-to-date.

16. KEEP A CONSISTENT SCHEDULE

Post at similar times every day so that your followers know what to expect and when to expect your photos. They will get into the habit of going to your account and look forward to it the days of.

17. POST AT THE OPTIMAL TIMES

When it comes to determining the right time to post, you can use logic and post when people use Instagram the most like in the mornings, at work at lunchtime and before going to bed. But you can also be a little more scientific about it and use data from services like Iconosquare or the Instagram business profile.

18. SWITCH TO A BUSINESS ACCOUNT

When you switch to an Instagram business account you will have access to stats and analytics at your fingertips. You’ll be able to determine when the best time is to post, who your followers are and where they come from.

19. REPLY TO YOUR COMMENTS

In the beginning, this should be fairly easy but as you begin to grow it’ll become more and more difficult. But none the less it’s very important. If someone took the time to write a genuine reply, take that seriously and engage with them. This will create engagement and a genuine brand message for your new followers to see.

20. USE INSTAGRAM STORIES AND ALWAYS HAVE ONE ACTIVE

You’ll benefit from Instagram stories in several ways… You will get more recognition from your existing followers because they’re going to see your face as the first thing they see when they log into Instagram and another is that the Instagram algorithm secretly favors people who are really active on Instagram stories. So by using Instagram stories, you’re sending a signal to the algorithm that you should be ranking higher in the newsfeed.

Do any of these Instagram tips sound enticing for you to try out?! I personally love Insta stories and I can’t wait to show you more when I am ready to unleash my Instagram feed on you!

I personally am putting more focus on Pinterest right now, but Instagram is next! If you are a blogger then you know that once you have Pinterest on lockdown then your set to embark with other social media platforms after.

Know that it is totally OKAY to use one social medium at a time until you’re ready to move onto the next.

Can CBD Help With High Blood Pressure?

High blood pressure is an issue that many Americans face. About one in every three adults suffers from high blood pressure, and only about half of them have their condition under control. You can limit the risks by taking preventative measures, but sometimes you’re too late, or it is ingrained in your genetics. Those that are at this point turn to medication, and more and more people everyday are switching to Cannabidiol (CBD) to lower their blood pressure.

A Little About CBD

CBD is a chemical that is extracted from the cannabis plant. By itself, it is entirely legal in all 50 states because of its lack of psychoactive properties that we know THC has. Cannabidiol’s interaction with the endocannabinoid system is possible without psychoactive effects in part because it doesn’t directly bind with the CB1 and CB2 receptors on neurons. It stimulates non-cannabinoid receptors and travels through ion pathways and independent receptor channels. This gives it the ability to police and monitor the activity in the brain, making sure it functions properly.

CBD’s job is to regulate the endocannabinoid system. This system is in charge of homeostasis, which is what keeps everything in your body running like a well-oiled machine. If you have a weak endocannabinoid system, or any damaged or faulty parts, CBD helps your brain fill in the missing pieces and can even repair damaged cells.

Two Main Hypertension Types

Man Smoking
Essential Hypertension

This kind of blood pressure is diagnosed when an individuals blood pressure is high after three or more visits and other causes have been ruled out. Often, the patient doesn’t experience any symptoms. The symptoms they may feel are frequent headaches, dizziness, fatigue or nosebleeds. Doctors and researchers are unsure of the cause, but factors like smoking, obesity, drinking alcohol, and hereditary are known to play a role in the disease.

Secondary Hypertension

The most common cause of Secondary Hypertension is abnormalities in the arteries that supply blood to the kidneys. Other less common causes are airway obstruction during sleep, disease, and tumors in adrenal glands, hormonal abnormalities, too much salt in the diet, and hormone abnormalities. It can also be caused by over-the-counter medicine like Advil and Aleve. (Full list of medications that can cause High Blood Pressure) Once this type of Hypertension is diagnosed in a patient, it cannot be cured, and many lifestyle changes are going to need to occur to prevent detrimental damage.

Additional Hyptertension Types

Isolated Systolic

There are two numbers that are measured when your blood pressure is taken, and the first or upper number is the systolic number. This is the pressure exerted during the heartbeat. The bottom or second number is the diastolic number, which is the pressure of the heart in between its beats. Loss of elasticity is often a cause for the systolic number of being high while the diastolic number remains normal. The individuals who are at the highest risk of developing this type of Hypertension are people over the age of 65.

Malignant Hypertension

One of the rarer forms of hypertension with only about 1% of people suffering from high blood pressure suffering from this form of the disease. Malignant Hypertension makes your blood pressure rise rapidly, and it is considered a medical emergency that should be treated in a hospital. The individuals who have the highest risk of this disease are younger adults, black males, and women with pregnancy toxemia. The symptoms are blurred vision, numbness in the arms and legs, confusion, headache, and chest pain.

Resistant Hypertension

This type of Hypertension is rewarded to the disease that just won't go away. The reason it has its name Resistant Hypertension is that it doesn’t go away after taking the proper medications. This happens in 20-30% of blood pressure cases. The causes are speculated to be genetic, though there is more research to be done. What they have found I that it is most commonly found in the elderly, black community, the obese, females, those who have diabetes, or have an illness involving the kidney.

How You Can Prevent Hypertension

Some risk factors of hypertension are out of your control. You cannot change your gene pool, your age, or your ethnicity. There are some factors you can control, and by practicing these healthy habits, you can even reduce the risks that you were forced to live with.

Healthy Body Weight

A healthy body should always be the primary concern when it comes to body weight, not aesthetics. Knowing the healthy body weight for your size can be a huge help in reducing the risk to high blood pressure. Just losing ten pounds could make the world of a difference.

Eat A Balanced Diet

The healthier your eating habits, the healthier your body is most likely going to be. By staying away from foods that can clog arteries, damage cells, and slow your body down, you can help lower your risks of the disease. There are even some foods that have been known to reduce blood pressure that contains magnesium, potassium, and fiber.

HYPERTENSION DIET FOODS
Apples
Bananas
Apricots
Green Beans
Broccoli
Grapes
Mangos
Melons
Raisins
Spinach
Strawberries
Tuna
Fat-Free Yogurt

Reduce Salt Intake

The higher the sodium intake, the worse the blood pressure. It is always a good idea to not go overboard with salty foods. To make it easier, try to make a food diary that lists how much salt you’ve eaten. It is suggested to limit your salt to 2,300 milligrams. Try eating foods that only have 5% or less of the daily value of sodium, and especially stay away from processed foods.

Exercise Regularly

Exercising is very effective in lowering systolic blood pressure. It strengthens the heart which means the heart doesn’t have to work so hard to get the blood pumping. This relaxes the arteries, making blood flow easy and blood pressure lower.

Drink Less Alcohol

It’s a known fact that drinking too much alcohol can raise blood pressure. It also contributes to unwanted weight gain. By reducing your alcohol intake, you can reduce both systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure. For most people with high blood pressure, it is suggested to limit your drinking to one alcoholic beverage a day.

Monitor Blood Pressure

By keeping track of your blood pressure, you will know if either your efforts are working or if you need to see a doctor to find out how to tackle this disease differently. It is also just good to know if your symptoms are getting worse what the cause is. When all of these strategies fail, or the hypertension is in your blood, many turn to using medication.

How CBD Can Help With Hypertension

Studies have shown that just one dose of CBD can reduce blood pressure. This is because when CB1 receptors are stimulated by endocannabinoids like anandamide, the force used to for the heart to pump can become suppressed. This allows for more significant blood flow which normalizes blood pressure and reduces damage to the arterial walls.

Using CBD can also protect the individual’s brain after experiencing a heart attack or stroke. When the brain stops receiving blood, it can start to shut down and become damaged. Hemp repairs damaged cells and has neuroprotective properties that help keep parts of the brain out of harm’s way.

Many brains that experience a stroke go through oxidative stress, inflammation, and fibrosis. During a test with rats that had a stroke, they eliminated the brain alterations entirely by giving the rat CBDdirectly after the stroke, which in turn helped save its brain from long-term damage.

The reason so many are switching to CBD over many medications, even effective ones, is because they hold a lot less risk in taking them. Some drugs can cause skin rashes, an unhealthy change in weight, nausea, and fatigue. One of CBD’s highest risks is that it lowers blood pressure. Which, in this case, seems like less of a risk. It is always suggested to speak to a doctor before switching medications or taking yourself off of them.

Smoking medical cannabis can increase heart rate and standing blood pressure and reduces lying blood pressure. Though it is extremely uncommon to have a heart attack triggered from smoking medical marijuana, it may be best to take the safe route. Luckily, CBD is extremely versatile in a number of ways you can take it. There are pills, tablets, edibles, and even suppositories that can help you lower your blood pressure safely.

If you are wanting to take CBD oil for your blood pressure, be sure to discuss this with your doctor. Your doctor always needs to know what kind of medication you are taking so they can help monitor your progress and make sure that you are taking the best route to health.

Signs of High Blood Pressure

If you struggle with high blood pressure or someone in your family does, it is always a good idea to know what it may look like when it starts to creep in. The earlier you catch it, the less likely you are to develop a serious cardiovascular disease. Here are some sings that you may have high blood pressure.

Severe Headache

If you are starting to get headaches that are on both sides fo your head and get worse with physical activity, it could be that your blood pressure is spiking. This causes the blood pressure to build up in your head which can cause blood to leak onto your brain which causes swelling. This brain swell may be why a headache is a sign of high blood pressure. You may also experience shortness of breath, anxiety, or nose bleeds when the blood pressure in your head isn’t regulated.

Poor Cognitive Function

Cognitive functions are things like:
Memory
Learning
Planning
Problem Solving
Attention
Language
Perception

If you are frequently forgetting things like where you put things or what you were just saying, having problems soaking in new information, or having issues with attention and focus your blood pressure could be to blame. When your blood pressure is high, it reduces the blood flow causing your brain to work less efficiently. This is also something that is known as brain fog which has many other causes. It is important that you talk to your doctor when you start noticing symptoms so you can rule other things out.

Vision Problems

Your body needs blood to work. With high blood pressure, your body doesn’t get enough of it. One of the areas where you can start to see the damage is in your eyes. If your retinas don’t get enough oxygen-rich blood, they will start to degrade and can even lead to complete vision loss. If your vision is starting to get a little fuzzy, it’s time to go see the doctor. Might as well stop by the eye doctor too, just in case.

Chest Pain

This one may come to you as no surprise, but a common sign that your blood pressure is high is that your chest will hurt. Just like the rest of your organs, your heart needs oxygen-rich blood. If your heart doesn’t get enough, it starts to work harder. This can cause heart arrhythmias and chest pain.

Blood in the Urine

Blood in the urine usually means something is wrong with your kidney. High blood pressure can cause the arteries in your kidneys to harden and narrow which makes it harder to filter blood safely. If you struggle with high blood pressure, it could cause you to urinate blood. If you struggle with high blood pressure and start urinating blood, don’t just chalk it up to high blood pressure and tell yourself that you’ll work on it. Go see a doctor so they can rule out any other causes.

Use CBD

If you are struggling with high blood pressure, talk to your doctor about CBD oil. It is a great natural way to lower blood pressure without some of the risky side effects that come along with commonly prescribed medications. Studies have shown that CBD oil was able to lower the blood pressure of participants after just one small dose. If you think this sounds good to you, talk to your doctor today!

Tarlac town opposes use of New Clark City as coronavirus quarantine site

The municipal council of Capas, Tarlac on Friday unanimously voted to oppose the decision to use New Clark City as a quarantine area for dozens of Filipinos to be repatriated from the epicenter of the novel coronavirus.

Tarlac town opposes use of New Clark City as coronavirus quarantine site
New Clark City, which is completely under the control of the government's Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), is located in the towns of Capas and Bamban in Tarlac Province.

Local officials said they were surprised when the Health Department announced that the Athlete's Village in New Clark City — constructed especially for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games — will house the group coming from Hubei Province in China. Capas Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan said they were not informed about the sudden announcement.

"DOH did not at all involve Capas LGU in its last-minute decision for New Clark City to be used as quarantine zone," he said in a statement read during the council's emergency meeting.

Even Tarlac Provincial Health Officer Dr. Jeanette Lazatin said they were unaware of the decision, adding it was the call of the national government.

Capas municipal councilors said the decision made by BCDA and DOH threatens social peace in the area, sowing worry that the virus might spread in nearby residential areas and resettlement areas. One councilor said it won't be a surprise if Capas turns into Hubei, where there are over 600 deaths due to the coronavirus.

Municipal Councilor Estella Manlupig said the Duterte administration should reconsider looking at a more isolated venue.

"Hindi naman tinatanggihan ang OFWs dahil kapwa natin sila Pilipino, pero sana dalhin sila sa lugar na mas mas akma at wala masyadong buhay na maaapektuhan," she said.

[Translation: We are not against our OFWs, but we hope they will be brought to a more proper location where there won't be people affected.]

Forty-five Filipinos from Hubei, Philippine officials who led their repatriation, and the flight crew carrying the group will be housed in New Clark City for 14 days for mandatory quarantine, health officials said.

The health department said all flight passengers will be screened before boarding the flight in China. Those who show coronavirus symptoms will not be allowed to board the aircraft and instead will be taken to hospitals in China. Once the plane lands in Clark International Airport, the passengers will once again undergo medical screening. Those who have fever, colds, or cough will be sent to local hospitals. Those who don't show symptoms will be transported to New Clark City.
Economic implications

Capas, Tarlac Vice Mayor Roseller Rodriguez said they are worried about the possible economic implications of labeling the area as a quarantine site because they are marketing New Clark City as a premier business and tourism hub.

"Kung magkaka-stigma na ginamit itong quarantine area ay maaapektuhan ang ekonomiya ng Capas... May turista pa po kayang pupunta kung malaman nila na naging quarantine area ang isang lugar sa Capas?" he told CNN Philippines on Friday.

[Translation: If there's a stigma because of its use as a quarantine area it will affect the economy of Capas...will tourists still come if they learn that a place in Capas was used as a quarantine area? ]

He added several citizens are planning to take legal action to stop the use of New Clark City as an isolated area. He said that if the citizens' and the local government's efforts fail, they will ask for the help of the Departments of Health and Interior in dealing with the situation.

BCDA assured the municipality of Capas that they are working to ensure its citizens won't be placed at risk.

"All preventive and precautionary measures are being put in place by the Task Force not only for our repatriated kababayans, but to also ensure that the adjacent communities of New Clark City and all Capaseños are kept safe and protected," it said in a statement.
